Leikskólinn Mánaland er þriggja deilda leikskóli í Vík í Mýrdal og er fyrir börn á aldrinum 1-5 ára. Það eru milli 30-40 börn sem stunda nám við leikskólann á hverjum tíma. Leikskólinn opnar kl. 07:45 á morgnana og honum er lokað kl. 16:15. Vistunartími barnanna er 36 stundir á viku og eru það foreldrarnir/forráðamenn sem ákveða hvernig sá tími skiptist niður.
Þegar leikskólinn flutti í nýtt húsnæð að Ránarbraut 17 haustið 2024 var þriðja deildin opnuð. Áður hafði leikskólinn alltaf verið tveggja deilda. Mjög góð hljóðvist er í húsnæðinu og gott er að labba um þar sem hiti er í gólfum. Maturinn sem er í boði er eldaður í Hjallatúni og sendur í Mánaland. En með nýju eldhúsi er möguleiki að bæði starfsfólk og börn geti t.d. bakað sitt eigið brauð.
Með nýju húsnæði vantaði nöfn á deildirnar sem og önnur svæði leikskólans og ákveðið var að leita ekki langt yfir skammt og nýta þann auð sem er í Mýrdalshreppi. Með því er hægt að vekja áhuga barna og aðra á því sem er í kringum okkur alla daga. Við grípum öll tækifæri til að fræða og kenna
Til dæmis fengu deildirnar nöfnin Hafursey, Dyrhólaey og Pétursey, listaskálinn heitir Fagridalur og eldhúsið er Eldhúsbrekka og unnið er að því að finna fleiri nöfn.
Leikskólinn starfar eftir lögum um leikskóla, Aðalnámskrá leikskóla og menntastefnu Mýrdalshrepps. Með nýju húsnæði var einnig ákveðið að endurmeta þá stefnu sem leikskólinn hefur starfað eftir og bæta við þar sem þarf. Áfram verður unnið með Lubbi finnur málbein og Blæ. Einnig er leikskólinn að taka inn Jákvæður aga stefnuna sem leikskólar á svæðinu eru að vinna eftir. Myndrænt skipulag fær sinn sess innan leikskólans sem og Gefðu 10. Mánaland er Heilsueflandileikskóli.

Mánaland Preschool is a three-division preschool in Vík í Mýrdal, serving children aged 1-5 years. At any given time, the preschool accommodates between 30-40 children. The preschool opens at 07:45 in the morning and closes at 16:15. The children's attendance time is 36 hours per week, and it is up to the parents/guardians to decide how this time is distributed.
When the preschool moved to a new building at Ránarbraut 17 in the fall of 2024, the third division was opened. Previously, the preschool had always been a two-division institution. The new building features excellent acoustics and underfloor heating, making it a comfortable space to walk around. Meals are prepared at Hjallatún and delivered to Mánaland. However, with the new kitchen, both staff and children will have the opportunity to bake their own bread, for example.
With the new facility, there was a need for names for the divisions and other areas of the preschool. It was decided to draw inspiration from the natural surroundings of Mýrdalshreppur, helping to spark curiosity and learning about the local environment. The preschool takes every opportunity to educate and teach.
For instance, the divisions were named Hafursey, Dyrhólaey, and Pétursey, the art room is called Fagridalur, and the kitchen is Eldhúsbrekka, with more names being decided.
The preschool operates under the Preschool Act, the National Curriculum Guide for Preschools, and Mýrdalshreppur's education policy. With the new building, the preschool also took the opportunity to reassess and refine its policies. The preschool continues to use Lubbi finnur málbein and Blær as learning tools. Additionally, it is adopting Positive Discipline, which preschools in the region are implementing. Visual schedules and the "Give 10" method also play a role in the daily routine. Mánaland is a Health-Promoting Preschool.

Przedszkole Mánaland to przedszkole z trzema oddziałami w Vík í Mýrdal, przeznaczone dla dzieci w wieku 1-5 lat. W przedszkolu przebywa jednocześnie od 30 do 40 dzieci. Przedszkole jest otwarte od godziny 07:45 rano do 16:15 po południu. Czas pobytu dzieci wynosi 36 godzin tygodniowo, a sposób jego podziału ustalają rodzice/opiekunowie.
Jesienią 2024 roku przedszkole przeniosło się do nowego budynku przy Ránarbraut 17, co umożliwiło otwarcie trzeciego oddziału. Wcześniej przedszkole miało tylko dwa oddziały. Nowy budynek zapewnia doskonałą akustykę i komfort dzięki ogrzewaniu podłogowemu. Posiłki są przygotowywane w Hjallatún i dostarczane do Mánaland. Jednak dzięki nowej kuchni zarówno personel, jak i dzieci mogą np. piec własny chleb.
Wraz z nowym budynkiem pojawiła się potrzeba nadania nazw oddziałom i innym przestrzeniom przedszkola. Zdecydowano się na inspirację przyrodą Mýrdalshreppur, aby wzbudzić w dzieciach zainteresowanie otaczającym je światem. Przedszkole wykorzystuje każdą okazję do edukacji i nauki.
Na przykład oddziały otrzymały nazwy Hafursey, Dyrhólaey i Pétursey, sala plastyczna nazywa się Fagridalur, a kuchnia Eldhúsbrekka. Pracujemy również nad nadaniem kolejnych nazw.
Przedszkole działa zgodnie z Ustawą o przedszkolach, Narodowym Programem Nauczania dla Przedszkoli oraz polityką edukacyjną Mýrdalshreppur. Przy okazji otwarcia nowego budynku przedszkole zdecydowało się przeanalizować i ulepszyć swoje dotychczasowe podejście edukacyjne. Kontynuujemy pracę z programami Lubbi finnur málbein i Blær. Ponadto przedszkole wprowadza Pozytywną Dyscyplinę, którą stosują inne przedszkola w regionie. W codziennym planie dnia wykorzystywane są również wizualne harmonogramy oraz metoda "Give 10". Mánaland jest Przedszkolem Promującym Zdrowie.
